Privacy & Security

uRemember.it and the uRemember.it Companion browser extension · last updated 30 October 2026

In short: uRemember.it keeps your notes for you, stores them encrypted, and does not use advertising or tracking. The browser extension only reads a page when you ask it to save it.

What we store

On your own device, the website keeps your login cookie, the length of login you chose (so that logging in again keeps it) and, if you dismiss the "Get the extension" line, a note of when you did, so it only comes back after a few days. None of this is sent anywhere else or used for tracking.

How we protect it

Notes are encrypted before they are stored. The service has to decrypt a note to show it to you, so this is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption. We use access controls, rate limiting and other safeguards to protect the service, and we keep them up to date.
